PROJECT PROFILES

Central Texas Medical Center

Women’s Center Addition and OR Renovation

San Marcos, Texas

Contractor: BE&K

This two-story 65,000 project was completed in 2010 to expand CTMC’s women’s services by adding 2 high risk delivery rooms, 7 private LDR suites, 20 post partum patient rooms, a 9 bed NCCU, healing garden, and 3 parking lot expansions. The second floor added 22 telemetry Med/Surg beds. The OR Renovation coincided with the addition. The department was expanded from 4 to 6 ORs and new PACU. This remodel took place in the original hospital in two different construction types and 4 rooms were kept operational at all times. My involvement in the project began in Schematic Design with the design of the campus master plan. I was responsible for city, state, and accessibility code compliance as well as coordinating with all consulting disciplines and producing construction documents. I attended all monthly progress meetings, provided construction administration, conducted project closeout, and produced record documents.

Winkler County Memorial Hospital

Replacement Hospital

Kermit, Texas

Contractor: Skiles Group

This project was phased to expand and replace the existing hospital while remaining open and functioning as a critical access hospital. I provided construction administration, attended monthly progress meetings, conducted project closeout, and produced record documents. I was instrumental in the design of the replacement helipad and the coordination of consultants and contractor to make a difficult project a success. Project completed in 2008.

Hill Regional Hospital

This 22,000 sf patient room addition features 31 all private med/surg rooms and ancillary core nursing spaces. My involvement in the project began in Schematic Design. I am responsible for city, state, and accessibility code compliance as well as coordinating with all consulting disciplines and produced construction documents. I attend all monthly progress meetings and provide construction administration. We are currently in project closeout, and will produce record documents. The second phase of this project will consist of a total updating of finishes in the existing hospital common spaces as well as several departments. Work is currently underway.
